Subject: RE: Just how bad were gas tractors?

Floyd County, Iowa
We had 15w40 only in all the trucks at co-op, and they had to start every morning at temps down to -25f, and whatever lower temps we get in northern Iowa. They were all plugged in, but they sat outside 24/7/365.

As far as gas tractors, my gassers would all start in the dead of winter, without issue, without being plugged in. I used 10w30 in the winter for the gassers (Farmall 706, JD A, JD B, JD 60). But I wouldn't want to go back to gas guzzlers for the field work.
