Subject: RE: Government run healthy care???

Ottawa, Ontario
You get what you pay for. I hadn't been able to find a GP in the two years before we left Canada since the last one retired. Lead times to get in to see a specialist are a joke (a few days vs 6 months to see a cardiologist). Pediatric appointments at home take a minimum of two weeks...I can get same day appointments since we've moved here. I know two-tier health care is a four letter word in Cda, but i would gladly pay more to subsidize coverage for those that need it, if it meant I could get access to health care on par with what is possible in the US.
