Subject: RE: Life after dairy farming

Southern MN
We sold the cows 5 yrs ago, I took a off farm job wrenching as a mechanic. Some days I do miss it, but the steady income, not worrying about employees showing up for work is nice. But ....My uncle that's 63 milked cows his whole life, yeah, we, I mean he still has one cow that he milks for his consumption and for his cats, raise 20 head of Holstein steers keeps him semi busy. I told him I can pick him up milk at the grocery store when I go to work for a lot cheaper and less time consuming. My grandma told him that he must really enjoy still milking a cows.
