Subject: RE: Life after dairy farming

lake Michigan shore line/Mason county
I have a similar problem, might be the same. I have figured out its the whole package I miss. The smell of haylage , sound of the stanchions, and clicking of the pulsaters. Radio playing while milking. Fresh milk from the tank. Remembering what day you cant park anything in the way of the milk truck. A cold beer with a neighbor after a long dusty day in the hay field. Listening to the baby calves talking. Waving to the neighbor heading off to his field on a tractor. I miss hearing the sound of the different silo unloaders throwing feed down from up the road. Most all of this is forever gone, and only in my mind, but I still miss dairy life.
