Subject: RE: Closing Wheel/Curvetine/other types question

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Chad,

Joe and I decided from now on we will ship BOTH zerks and plugs for all Curvetines! Then customer decides which one he wants to run. In rocky areas probably run the SS plugs and occasionally remove, hand screw in zerk to grease and replace plug.

For non rocky areas where dry dust and fertilizer are an issue then customers can leave the zerk in if they want to. We use the grease to purge dirt and fertilizer as well as a lubricant. For others: please grease until you see grease coming out around the seal. You can not over grease our type of radial lip seal as you can a conventional U-type shaft seal.

We are also going to use your suggestion and change the mould for the Curvetine Supercap to add a protective lip around the zerk hole.
