here, wet lime sludge is piled for a year so it's slightly more spreadable. It will be finer than ground rock lime, so it will react immediately, but have no longer term affect. The ground lime neutralizing value will be based on fineness mostly, but the part that is not neutralized in the first year will still be there working slowly in two to twenty years. really coarse stuff will never react though
Does anyone know or have a timeline for how long the coarser lime stone will take to break down over time? Like how long the stuff that won't pass through a 60 mesh screen will take? Or a 20 mesh for that case? I mean are we talking a couple years or 10 years? I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone |
