How many sample tests did you pull on that 160 acre field?

Over liming a soil can do as much or more damage to crop production, as a low PH soil.   So we want to try to only apply lime where it's needed.

We typically don't want our sample size to be much bigger than 2.5 to 3 acres in size.  Your sample size is definitely something to think about.

Care to elaborate? Many claim to over lime to build base calcium saturation and drive out magnesium. The ph will only goes as far as the ph of the lime and is many times cheaper than gypsum if you have the correct lime.

Just interested in you thoughts on this I have not done it.
