I remember 80 ish a gallon as well. About the only thing we used it for then was around the buildings and bins. Then we started using it in bean riders and we'd spike it with a little 2,4-D so we could get by with a 5% solution. Sometime in the 80's Monsanto came with a premix called Deploy that was 40 a gallon. Worked well in the bean machines and it seemed like that was the start of cheaper Round Up. (All facts and figures are subject to a shaky memory. Not everything is accurate but it's the way I want to remember it.)
