| I know several people that work at the Deere hay equipment factory here in Iowa, their sister plant is in France and I assure you Deere corporate knows that U.S. labor costs are dirt cheap compared to Europe. Also Deere builds a lot of components in Mexico but there was some agreement signed in the last couple of years that is going into effect soon that U.S. companies have to pay their Mexico a certain percentage of what they pay their U.S. employees. I think Deere currently pays a lot of the Mexico workers a dollar or two an hour, under this new agreement that will go to $6 or $8. | |
