Good old rope wick.  Many farmers made their own and I was one of them.  Rup cost too much for many of us  to solid spray so the rope wick came to the rescue.   Was tough con trolling johnsongrass back then as there few options.  Used a field cultivator with saddle tanks on tractor to incorporate Sutan and Eradicane back then.  Anyone who didn't farm back then has no idea how good they have it today with the herbicides available.
