North Central Texas | Years ago Deere had an employee who made sickle sections. He was nonunion and since union guys worked on a quota, his pay was based on the number of sections he made. He took home more money than many of the supervisors above him. He wanted to work and get paid for it, unlike the union boys who met their quota, had their feet propped up reading a newspaper, and still had 2 hours left on their shift.
Deere has been down here. They have toured Peterbilt. They toured the locomotive plant GE built. They learned the opinion of unions down here. | |
