Subject: RE: Running a new water line

i just added several hydrants to my yard. Right or wrong- I bought 500' of 1" poly from Menards and T'd into the line between the well and my house (pressure tank in basement). I buried a 1/4 turn ball valve with a 4" riser pipe and bellhousing over the valve so I can get to it by removing the cap and using a T handle wrench. I had leak problems using poly threaded and barbed fittings so i recommend using brass and gently heating the poly before sliding on the barbs and using 2 stainless work gear clamps though I probably should have used crimp rings looking back on my experience.
