One Foot being 12” makes for very easy construction math. Not always the case for base 10
Some are. Sort of..the last few new construction industrial sites I've been on were full metric. So, on work orders and iso drawings 2" pipe was 50mm, 8" was 203mm etc... Everything is still it's nominal pipe size but identified in metric on paperwork...stud bolts were 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and measured in inches in the bolt room but their metric equivalent on the drawings....very confusing and easy to make a terrible mistake, QC was very thorough though.
I actually quite like the metric system, but not when it's blended with imperial...
