So the facts are for 2018, China exported 20% of its total exports to the US ($480 billion) and in addition exported 12% of its total exports to Hong Kong ($303 billion) . Hong Kong in turn exported an additional $45 billion to the US.
So total $545 B exported to the US.
The US in turn exported 6.6% of its exports to China ($107 B). And the US exported 1.9% of its total exports to Hong Kong. ($30 B)
In 2018 the US exported $7.9 B of farm goods to China down from $20B in 2017. However , US farm goods exported to Hong Kong increased in 2018 to $37.3 B a $14.3 increase over 2017.
So the approximate 2018 total is China to US $525 B vs US to China $137 B.
A rather large trade imbalance which is very detrimental to the US economy with the Communist Chinese holding many billions of US dollars.
