As of Last Sunday.. the US still had 20% of Corn acres left to go.. or 97 x 0.2 = 19.4 million acres.
No doubt some progress was probably made but trouble spots remain.. A persistent Low pressure system dumped copacious amounts of moisture in Michigan 59% done.. upper Illinois 83% done as well as across the Eastern Cornbelt Indiana 72% done Ohio was 57% done while Pennsylvania was only 15% done. In those states in the Eastern Cornbelt unplanted corn acreage as of Last Sunday was 7.42 million acres +
Meanwhile in the Dakota's North Dakota was only 20% done with 2.56 million acres yet to go.. South Dakota had 1.98 million acres to go.. together adding 4.54 million acres.
In the Southwest dryness in Kansas had limited our plantings to 74% complete with 1.64 million acres yet to go.
All totaled that's 13.6 million acres to get in as of Last Sunday.
Even if you got half of that.. 6.8 million in.. add back the replant and the Mid South issues.. and we're probably pushing..
around 7 million acres of Prevent Plantings for Corn.. or 90 million acres ultimately in.
After Last year's experience.. it's doubtful that guys are gonna push the envelope like they did last year.

Tuesday's numbers are going to be interesting. |
