I've done the same thing for years, except I only put a pump or 2 of grease in a bearing that size. Did a lot of them on a 9400 combine and don't remember the last time a bearing went out. After I pump the grease in and turn the bearing around a few times, I clean up the outside with brake cleaner and put a dab of silicone over the hole. Easy to grease again in a couple years.
Anyone else do this to bearings?
