Subject: RE: Good news from Washington for a change

I am an advocate for no subsidized crop insurance but I’ll admit that I’m that way blindly. It would affect me drastically. At my current stage in life I could lose half my net worth in one year on a bad corn crop.

That being said, I am not totally convinced I would stop planting corn. I know I would be a lot more careful about what environments I would be willing to plant it into but I’m pretty convinced I would still plant it with today’s commodity prices and I may still plant it on a large scale some years. It’s a proven crop in my area now. Some guys have been dryland corn on corn on some fields for 10 years or more with 80% of those years being great.
