Southeast Colorado
The farm payments are sold to the public as a "keep the family on the farm" system along with being a rural community support program. When the farms become large enough that they are figuring out ways around limits..............along with typically living better than most city folks.............then the payments need gone. So yes...........to a point I understand payments. Subsidy payments to millionaires..........not so much. By at least subsidizing a small portion of each farm you keep a more diverse farm population which is better for rural economies. 50 smaller farms in a community allow the community to live. Two large farms spells the death of that community.
