Southeast WI | If you had a few rows go without starter it would be easy to put the shorted rows at a big disadvantage. These pics are from 2017 - I posted them before. Only diff in height of corn is plot with no starter or N vs N and 2*2 starter - all 12 row plots. Pic taken on 6/21. No starter plots are typically 5 days behind pollinating and depending on the year not as tall as full treatment ones. Still some years there is little yield difference.
