Ne Iowa | I had a guy write me a bad check one time and then head off to Vegas.....It's much better to have a bounced check in hand than just an unpaid bill.....I did get my money. In the Auto Repair business it was quite easy to get a mechanics lien, just get the VIN # off the vehicle when it's parked in a non-private location and file a small claims. My wife got the jump on a guy one time by getting a judgment against him and getting his wages garnished just before he filed for bankruptcy......that was excellent timing that we still laugh about today....got all of our money + costs. I've also learned that people who don't pay or write bad checks can always afford answering machines back before the days of voicemail. | |
