Scranton | Depends on what you call a "deal". The only help I got was getting to rent my mom's 160 acre farm for the going rate, and getting to buy dad's machinery for its actual value. I also got to go to my dad's landlords on my own after his funeral and ask to keep renting from them for what were fair rents for both sides.
Didn't get a single "deal" as far as I'm concerned. But it WAS an opportunity, which many never get. Btw, my first year farming was 1996...and no, I didn't sell any $3 corn that year....I did sell alot of $1.60 corn along the way. | |
