Everyone seems a little hard on SteveMn, but I can see where he's coming from. It may not be a nice thing to say, but there are operations that for various reasons, one questions how they stay afloat. A few years ago I got some ground that had been farmed by one of those guys that couldn't stay solvent despite high prices, and with an influx of effort and capital, yields on that ground did go up. While SteveMn's notion is not popular, it's likely correct.
It is an arrogant and stupid(not foolish) statement that blankets a lot of people in who are very good at farming but for whatever reason stayed small. |
