Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Here in central PA, nearly every farm that is not operated by owner has a dozen farmers (of all ages) trying to buy or rent it. That's pretty strong evidence that we have a big shortage of farms, and a big surplus of farmers, here in this area. Don't know anything about other areas but would be very surprised if Iowa farmers aren't lined up 10 deep to buy or rent every acre of available Iowa cropland also. If so, then how is it possible to have a shortage of farmers ? |
