North West IA/western AZ | I read it in the Iowa Farmer Today. Looks to me like Ms Merrigan is quoting statistics without knowing what they mean. New Mexico has the highest average age of farmer/ranchers. Could that possibly be because most of us over 60 (or whatever age) farm smaller acreages than the younger people farm? Lets all wring our hands and worry about who will farm our land. For a so called ag newspaper to think it news worthy is maybe a sadder story. | |
