SC
I was cleaning up a farm with a trackhoe and there was a fiber optic phone line along the highway where I was working. The phone company man says he rides the line daily and had been told if he prevents the line from being cut by accident he has paid for his salary for his entire career with the company. He marked it well and left me hats, calenders, pens, etc all with the phone # to call before digging. Regarding power poles: I have hit several and never been charged but the estimate to have one moved over about 75' was around $5000.
