Send them a bill for 3000 dollars for disk repair and mental anguish.

In all honesty, give them a call and have a visit. If the pole was rotten anyways and you called right away there shouldn't be much of an issue.

Also, this would be a bill for your insurance company to handle provided you don't have a 5000 dollar deductible or similar.
