Subject: what makes good fire wood

St.Clair Co. IL.
I usually cut fallen trees and sell them for firewood during the winter, I have been given a bunch of wood from a neighbor who cleaned up a old farm site, some of everything, oak, ash, sweet gum and walnut ( not big enough for anything) was wondering how the sweet gum and walnut fair for fire wood, any good? it's all been down for a few yrs. so all I need to do is cut to size and split.
thanks
Bob
