Used to have customer that liked cherry because of the smell. Persimmon burns with a real pretty flame. Not that great for heating but a log in the fire place looked nice.

I'm with you. When we cleaned up fence rows we burned whatever we felled. Didn't try to sell every type but used it ourselves.

Personally, I can't stand the smell of cherry foliage or wood. It just smells toxic to me.
