SE Lancaster co PA | background, i am an old dairy farmer my son is a cattle feeder. when you breed dairy cattle you are breeding for a heifer that will become a cow. you are only breeding for females. question. how do you beef cow guys handle this when you want a few heifers for replacements with feminine characteristics but mostly you want bulls to become steers to sell as feeders with masculine characteristics. i know dumb question. but one load of feeders my son got, i think all from one farm were about half with long heads and half with wide heads and it made me wonder how you handle this. | |
