NEMO | Huh?? 2-3 yrs. Step back for a second and look at the big picture. You're assuming that you can "analyze the situation", select the right bull, and fix all the problems.....don't work that way. What about all the guys that mis-analyze their situation and pick the wrong bull. Or they correctly analyze and still get the wrong bull. Even if the stars line up perfectly, every bull will set you back on some one trait. Heck, you could poll 100 cow guys on here, and not many would agree on much as far as breeding decisions. Not trying to argue at all, but your statement, "your hfs should be more advanced" while technically true, often isn't the case at all. It's not as simple as a 2-3 year one and done, it's a never ending chase of a moving target. Look at it this way, at least we are able to have an intelligent conversation about it, too many calves show up at the sale barn where you gotta wonder what the thought process was | |
