I remain a Hereford fan. Like any breed you just need to be careful what bulls you are using. My EFBeef C627 bull (darker red in the middle of the photo below) is doing a great job and on grass only. Last year's C627 calf crop is excellent. He is a cow maker. My plan has always been to breed a herd of homegrown Hereford cows then experiment with different bulls on them to produce terminal F1 calves.
