I was in a similar situation recently in my pickup when I came up behind an Amish buggy on a somewhat hilly road. To make it interesting there was a County Sherriff's Deputy right behind me.
There was a double yellow line for probably a mile going up a hill.....I knew I could pass the buggy without any danger, but I wasn't sure with the cop behind me.
I decided I wasn't going to follow the buggy at 8-10 mph for a mile so I passed him. Looked in the mirror and the cop passed him also and followed me for several more miles.
Granted, the bus driver broke a law, but to me, it's no different than driving 59 in a 55..........and I bet most on here have done this many times.
Common sense should prevail. |
