Ottawa Valley, Eastern Ontario | I wouldn’t say land prices are rising in this area but they’re not dropping either. An elderly lady from the area passed away this winter and left 3 parcels of land for her estate to sell. The land was run down and hadn’t been cropped for many years. It sold for $6500-8000/ac depending on the size. All bought by dairy farmers.They would probably sink another 2500-3000/acre into tile and land cleanup before it can be ready for crop. All the buyers have another generation on the farm looking to expand.
