S Illinois | Acres do disappear. From the Jan annual crop production report, the principle crop acres planted for the last 3(edit:5) years are:

Analysts drive themselves nuts trying to say we never lose acres or where are the missing acres. There are swing acres between DC, fallow, haying, just non planted that are affected.
