Go to a Jr college in a diesel tech, at mechanic type program. You will have a job to pay and skill set to use farming. Take some welding, chemistry, electrician, accounting, zoology type classes while you're there. All will be useful in building and growing a farm. Take 3 years at a 2 year school and work your way through it to graduate debt free if you can. I went to school for welding an machine tool technology, work side jobs to supplement farm income. I never planned to farm but when dad broke his back took over so he didn't have to give up his dream. Custom tillage is my bread and butter after buying my own tractor, disk, and field cultivator. Payed for themselves the first year. You're going to have to start with equipment that's marginally reliable but if you have the skills can make them reliable without much expense.
