Cereal Rye has allelopthic (or auto toxicity, depends on which weed guy you talk to) effects on many weeds. Think I'm safe saying that many have found a cereal rye cover crop a very good part of a weed control program in soybeans (and dry beans as well) . Takes some extra management, but there are more benefits than weed control as well.
