I have some Okoboji soil on my farm and never felt it ever benefited from being moldboard plowed.I have found that any kind of tillage just makes that kind of ground just seal over and drown out. Using ridge till has helped some, but not a perfect solution. The best solution with some of these potholes may be to enroll them in the wetlands CRP and stop throwing money at them.

not the case here. one of the keys to Okoboji is to get it tiled, and to get consecutive crops to be grown, if it drowns out, get back in there and get something planted. if it lies fallow for one season you start all over.
