Subject: plow-maybe best tool in shed

sw ontario
Don't own a plow anymore but years ago , on our brookston clay loam moldboard plowing in fall and good tile pretty much insured a crop....every area is different, we are so flat the neighbor said his dog ran away from home and he could see him running for 3 days ........... we no til drill beans ito corn stalks, miller off set disk wheat ground and field cultivate for corn ....would like to be 100% no til but pulling manure tank often in less than ideal conditions and generally wet fall harvests leaves tracks/ruts....see most guys have bought a 1790 planters , VT tools and then pull planter with 200+ tractor that weighs 24,000 lbs. .......profit wise maybe fall plowing /spring tillage is even cheaper........40 yrs. ago guys wanted to only have a little massey or ford on a 4 row planter in spring ....... now combines, tractors, manure tanks, grain carts put a lot of compaction in ground, then guys just tile closer...too each his own edit poor spelling
