Subject: RE: plow-maybe best tool in shed

Ripley, Ontario Canada
Here it is still hard to beat a plow on heavy ground. We are short season with cold (not cool, actually cold) springs with the wind off lake Huron. Especially on heavier ground if you don't plow (or do serious fall tillage of some kind) it is hard to get ground to warm up in the spring, and we need all the season we can get.

It is said here that any fall tillage (usually plowing) even when wet is way better than doing nothing and plowing in the spring. We have the great equalizer frost to deal with any smearing from fall plowing, usually all looks the same in the spring, plowed wet or dry as long as it was plowed.
