it's one of our more flatter fields. it's predominately Okoboji soils classification. poor internal drainage, low csr, high productivity if you can get it dried out.
i'd be lying to you if I said there wouldn't be any dirt in the ditch, varies by year of course, depends on wind, snowcover, moisture, how lumpy the plowing is, and to a great extent how much residue I leave on top, obviously.  like ntexcotton mentioned the old timers would be having a fit on the amount of residue i'm leaving on top.
the bigger crime as you point out is the amount of tillage that goes on around here in the bean stubble, there is way more dirt moving off of those fields than my plowed field ever thought about.
