td1 - 11/30/2015 08:15 Only thing I would add to what Kooiker said is that we do have a couple packing plants coming on board in 17'-18'. One in Michigan and one in Sioux city. I do believe Michigan plant has broke ground not sure about Sioux city. This may offer more competitive bids for hogs and absorb the expansion.




 
Those new plants should help but how much depends on how much demand there is for the extra lbs of Pork.

If there isn't demand for the meat then all it will do is narrow up the spread between the carcass bid and product prices a little bit.
