Subject: RE: Would you buy a sale barn?

NE Iowa
A couple of the local salebarns have weekly hay auctions. I think they make as much commission off of selling hay as they do cattle. They used to have the hay sale before the cattle sales but the hay has grown so much it is on its own day. They average 500 ton of hay a week and the sale lasts only 1 hour. They get 5% commission to sell hay and charge load and unload fees. If you don't have a hay auction close to your area it might be a good way to add income if you buy the salebarn.
