I'm not pretending to know your pasture or your cows, but when I've seen cows leaning on a 48" fence with a hot wire, either the wire isn't hot or the cows have the grass grazed down to the nubbins, their ribs are showing and they will do about anything for a bite to eat.
There wasn't a lot of grass left, but they had excellent hay in the bale feeders, but dry hay vs. green corn leaves the leaves win. The tall woven wire almost helped the cows, it gave them something to lean on so they didn't have to worry so much about getting into the hot wire. |
