One of the richest men I know once told me that the only real money he ever made on investments were investments in things that he knew and that he worked on....he invested heavily in the stock market but in his words he never made what he did with farmland, commercial properties and his businesses...
My grandfather stopped buying land at a certain $/amount. He said he'd start again when it got below a certain cost. In the mean time he put $ in the stock market.... He told me not long ago he should have "kept buying land and never put a nickel in the hands of someone in new York". |
