+1 that seems to be exactly how it works m&m. Have let them go for stealing from me, hard on equipment, don't show up, and just plain lazy! The list could go on but I will quit there. I would give anything to get a good hired hand. They are few and far between. What I don't understand is I was a hired hand at one time, I never got fired and always tried to do my best, and can see where I probably had my own ideas at times but it worked out. So what has happened to today's help?
I have gave up training them trying to give them work ethic and after a few yrs when they are worth the money they leave. I have went to hiring some custom help, handyman or simple repair guy if I start falling behind and can't seem to get everything done. My buddy runs a custom chopping line and he says younger generation is getting way worse.
