I haven't a clue what land will do. I made photocopies of some files from the library at Iowa State University once and dug these out. They are probably online. These appear to be "land and buildings". 1920 - $255, wasn't until 1964 when it came back above that at $265 in IA. Sorry about the comic getting cutoff on the scan.
Thanks, the picture I posted of both nominal and real values of farmland time series was taken from a 1977 paper from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
