| I don’t have a dog in this fight or should I say discussion but just wanted to address your last sentence about land not being lower 30 years later after it was purchased. That sentence does not hold true. I have the transcripts to a farm I bought in 1989 for $175 an acre. The transcripts show that in 1948 that quarter had a loan on it of $215 an acre. From what I understand about that time frame land got really frothy during WWII and this sale was probably the tail end of that boom era. I agree with you in general but just want to point out that it HAS happened. To be clear I am not predicting that it will or won’t happen, I will leave that to smarter people. | |
