According to your logic AGB, why apply any P or K to a rented farm? That's kind of the way I interpret it.
I've clearly seen where a tile lime shows up on a yield monitor. Not as often have I seen where P&K applications provide the ROI as tile.

Tile on a rented farm can work. Are Fertility levels good enough you could skip dry fertilizer apps for an extended period to help to finance the tiling?
