SC Iowa | I remember 1992.......was invited up to MPLS and was shown some vegetation maps the crop researchers had been working on
NW/NC Iowa and SW./SC Minnesota were this incredibly dark green/blackish color
I still remember what the guy said: "we don't know what this means with certainty as we have never seen
this kind of coloring on these maps"
well, as Johnny Skeptical pointed out (29 years later).....those maps were dark because it was a huge crop
