EC SoDak | Typically, yes, or at least in spurts. It used to be a much bigger issue being too wet in the spring before much tile was installed. It’s generally pretty cool up here when I get started planting, so if a guy has normal moisture it hangs around and you have to wait for the fields to shape up enough to get going. This year, the ground was fit Easter weekend but the forecast showed very cold weather coming. However, some of the really big guys did put some corn in that weekend.
This year the ground was extremely mellow at planting and still is since we haven’t had much for rain yet and none of it came down hard. | |
